Rowena was born in 1127 in France. Her father was English and her mother was French, and her mother died a few years later in childbirth with baby brother, who also died.

Father was so distraught he went and joined the Templars, and eventually I got dragged off to the Holy Land when he went on crusade. I’ve spent most of my years — from about seven — growing up in the Holy Lands, which is one hell of a cool place to live: the food is better, the climate is better, and the sanitation is better.
